Courthouse Closings for the Holidays -- With the holiday season upon us, it is important remember that the Circuit Courts will be closed during "normal" business days in-order give court employees an extended holiday. This will impact sellers and buyers immediately needing funds from their sales. Funds cannot be disbursed until the deed and deed of trust have been recorded/ presented for recording. Please make sure that your clients are aware of the potential "delay" in recordation and disbursement, so that any follow on transactions are not impacted.
Example: if you are dealing with a seller, and have a closing scheduled for late Tuesday, November 22, there is a chance your client will not be in receipt of their seller proceeds until the following Monday, November 28! Please note the following closings for the coming winter holidays:
