Local Title Company Breaks New Ground In Real Estate Industry With Innovative, Web-based Program

All Closing Documents Online, Secure, For All Parties to View, Anytime

VIRGINIA BEACH --  In today's hot real estate market, realtors and lenders need all the advantages they can get when it comes to more time and less headaches. So do buyers and sellers.

Many are finding that an innovative, Web-based program designed by Reliant Title delivers on both.

Three years ago, Richard Reass, president and founder of Reliant Title, envisioned a secure, Web-based program that would simplify and de-stress the closing process. After investing heavily in research, development and implementation, his vision became reality when Transaction Assurance Program© (TAP) was launched in 2003. TAP's signature stoplight coding system (green - good to go; yellow - pending; red - behind schedule) delivers a quick and easy-to-understand status on the large checklist of documents and milestones needed to close on a home.

"TAP is awesome.  I love it," says Faith Greer, a closing agent at Hampton Roads Real Estate. "Other similar systems are too cumbersome and take too long to find the information I need. With TAP I can go online any time and see what's going on with my files. If I need something in the middle of the night, it's there. And it's simple to use."

The online system also allows Reliant to go virtually paperless. This makes for quicker and easier access to closing files, which are required to be held for seven years. So far, Reliant Title employees and interns have been scanned more than 4,000 files totaling over 750,000 pages. When the transition is completed, they will have scanned more than 9,000 files totaling over 2 million pages.
